Rob Wynne
Studied at the Pratt Institute Fine Arts. His art is full of allusions to music, literature and mass media. He extractes the quotes and phrases out of context, creating surreal, poetic, nostalgic images, made of different materials or everyday objects and in many techniques – silk screen, glass blowing, ceramics, embroidery, mouldings, typography, installations. He has numerous solo exhibitions, including in the galleries: JGM Galerie, Paris, Galerie Edward Mitterrand, Geneva, and Holly Solomon Gallery, New York. His work has been shown in the McNay Art Museum, TX, at PS1 Institute for Contemporary Art, NY, the Long Beach Museum of Art, CA, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. They are represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, the Museum of Modern Art, NY, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Norton Museum of Art, FL, at the Columbus Museum of Art, OH, and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris. Wynne lives and works in New York NY.
