Richard Tipping

Studies: Flinders University, Adelaide (Bachelor of Arts), University of Technology, Sydney (Master of Arts). Teaches at the University of Newcastle, Department of Communication & Media Arts. Participant in the Sydney Biennale (1992) and Australian Sculpture Triennial, in Sydney, as well as in London, New York City, Munich, Cologne etc. Tipping has published three volumes of poetry (University of Queensland Press) and is represented in many anthologies by his text and photo works. His “Word works” are in Australian public collections (including National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Powerhouse Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney) as well as in important American collections (Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles; Bienecke Library of Yale University; Sackner Archive, Miami). Lives in Maryville (Newcastle).
