Richard Tipping
Flinders University, Adelaide (Bachelor of Arts), University of Technology, Sydney (Master of Arts); lecturer at the University of Newcastle, Department of Communication & Media Arts; participant at the Sydney Biennale (1992) and the Australian Sculpture Triennial, Melbourne (1993). Solo exhibitions in Sydney, London, New York City, Munich, Cologne and other cities.
Richard Tipping lives in Newcastle and Sidney. He is internationally known for poetic objects and reinterpreted traffic signs. He combines Concrete Poetry with Visual Art. Publications in anthologies, artist books and poetry collections. His ”Artpoems“ are in public collections, e.g.: Museum of Modern Art in New York, Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles; British Museum, London; Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney; National Gallery of Australia, Canberra.
