ICH-Spiegel (ME-Mirror) Suitcase (Art Multiple)
2004
"Io, Michelangelo Buonarroti" – with the awakening of personal self-understanding among visual artists in the Renaissance, their works bear a kind of ego stamp. Art is linked to self-being, especially in self-aware self-portraits, later – from the early 1960s – identified with the display of one's own person, or reduced to "I" type faces. With the ME pocket mirror, Ottmar Hörl has verbally and formally concretised this I-identification for everyone in the form of a nostalgic pocket mirror, and in a variation on the business card and credit card holder as a miniature aluminium attaché case with snap locks.
