The edition was created as documentation of the exhibition "Das Urwüchsige und das Moderne" at the Haus am Lützowplatz, Berlin 1964 (as part of the "1st International Gag Festival"). Timm Ulrichs exhibited ten original cast-iron canal covers from Berlin's urban space in the gallery here (now lost).
